SEGA files brand NEW hardware trademark!

2011 March 16
Posted by john0wnzu

Apparently in late February, SEGA under thier SEGATOYS division has filed a brand new non arcade trademark! Here’s the link to the mark:

http://www.trademarkia.com/kidspad-85249514.html

The new tablet is rumored to be a cheaper alternative to the I-pad and is also rumored to contain the same PowerVR 5GXMP2 GPU as NGP. Do to the devestating Tsunami, additional information about it will not be released until later this month.

From what I’ve heard and from what Haneda has told me, SEGA will pass it off as a non gaming device, even though it willl be capable of downaloadable game titles and hopes to dash Sony’s hopes of NGP becoming a serious contender against 3DS.

The new tablet is also rumored to be priced at $150-200($170-220) and will likely be publicy unveiled at SEGA Gamer’s day 2011 in May, 17 years to the day SEGA Saturn was annouced. SEGA also plans on unveiling alongside the 20th anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog.

Here’s additional the additional detailed trademark

I’ve been talking to a former SEGA engineer.

He goes by the name Haneda. He was registered on Sega forum. Both me and him were banned for console speculation(which is restricted at thier forum) here’s one of his original post:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:kf-JFHLiO4kJ:forums.sega.com/showthread.php%3Fp%3D6053642+haneda+skunkworks&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk

He was responsible for designing one of the chipsets for Dreamcast. Sega of America planned on using a CPU called “Black Belt” which would used DVD and easy would have trouched the PS2.

I understand your fustriation with Zach Morris, but sometimes his sources providing info aren’t always accurate. He’s not a SEGA employee and his job is to speculate on whats going on at SEGA, I can assure you he’s not making anything up.

Haneda has 100% crediblity with me. He confirms what’s accurate on SNW and what’s not. Everything he tells me all has evidence and indications. Haneda has told me that SEGA is pitching a CES 2011 annoucement date for the SEGADRIVE digital console. it IS indeed based off of RINGEDGE but may use a different CPU simluar to it.

The 3D stereoscoptic arcade board, currently going by the codename “Model 4″ will be unveiled next spring. The console version of that is going by the codename “NEPTUNE”.

trust me when I say this, PS4 may not be released, SEGASammy will no longer be publishing 3rd party IPs by 2012, and Mircosoft cannot decide whether or not they want to market Xbox 3 as a console or digital device. Which is why Natal was invented.

Could this be the mockup for the ringedge?

He’s not saying its defiently real, he’s asking the reader to thoerize.

Also, the name “RingWave” sounds like a codename.

Plus, the photos have SEGA’s trademarked and registry logos. No fake Sega console design would be trademaked. Doing so would violate copyright laws and the hoaxer would face serious charges.

SEGA’s new ‘console’ will be announced at TGS this year in Sept.16-19.

At first I thought SEGA was making a portable device, but since they’re making games for the Nintendo 3DS, the portable device will probably be scrapped.

Now, onto the new console, that’ll either be called “cosmic smash”, “Neptune” or “SEGADrive”

PS4′s CPU revealed. And it’s weaker than SEGADRIVE’s.‏

2010 June 10
Posted by john0wnzu

PS4′s Mircoprocessor revealed. I have recieved some information concerning Sony’s upcomming console which could in fact be thier last console.

The Sony Playstation 4 is a high powered machine, but it may not be as powerful as previously thought. According to the information, The PS4 will use a Intel Larrabee instead of an AMD Radeon, meaning Sony has choosen a less expensive mircoprossor. The Intial clock speed is about 2.6 GHZ and uses about 10 TERAFLOPS and 20 GIGFLOPS will 32 L2 Cahce. The GPU is not known. but believed to be an Radeon Cypress.

This means that the system will be less powerful than SEGADRIVE which uses a Intel i7 core Lynnfield 860 running a clock speed of a whopping 2.8 GHZ and about 32 GIGFLOPS with 32 L2 Cache and 8 L3 Cache. Sega with the help of emerging Japanese PC company Fujistu and its old rival long retired from gaming and having forgiven SEGA for the bad blood regaurding development of Dreamcast “NEC Coporation” has obtained a $260 price CPU Core i7.

The SEGADRIVE is also rumored to be be going by the code name in SEGA’s R&D amusment department “Neptune” much like “Aurora” for the Saturn.

For The GPU, The SEGADRIVE will use Nvidia 400 series The GeForce 475 GTX, running a total processing clock speed of 3400 MHZ, with 384 MBs of Shadel Model 4.1 and a massive 1280 MB memory which is 5X times the power of RingEdge and 20X the speed of RSX.

SEGA also is designing the board, the same way they designed System 32 Model 2 except in addition to the Nvidia GPU there will be a PPU X2 running 384 bits. The Saturn was difficult to program because of the lack of GPU(which didn’t exist in 1993-1994) both 32 bit core CPUs were simply too complex and had to work together for a full 3D effect.

The price tag for PS4 is rumored to be $400, Sony won’t reveal the project until mid 2012 and plans on launching the console around the same time as Xbox 3(which is rumored to use either an Intel core i7 Bloomfield 940 which runs at 2.9 GHZ or a lower watt Core i7 620M Arrendale which runs 2.6 GHZ) in 2013. If it doesn’t succeed then, Sony plans on retiring it’s Playstation home computer line for good in 2014-2015

SEGA is opting the SEGADRIVE console to be about $300-350 and plans on launching it in Japan in Mid Fall 2011 in Japan, with an early summer 2012 U.S. launch. The name(s) will be finalized next spring.

Pioneer/Geneon actaully has thier own special version of Blu-Ray called Blu-Ray DVD ML or Blu-Ray16(multi-layer) which uses 400 GBs (http://pioneer.jp/press-e/2008/0707-1.html) because of this, it is possible for SEGA to acquire Blu-Ray WITHOUT Sony’s knowledge and Pioneer has also licensed this format with the new line of 2011 Japanese desktops.

Mircosoft plans on using Blu-Ray 2 which uses 2 layers and 100 GBs along with Sony.

Sony Fears SEGA. Starts Discounting PS3s To Make Room For PS4.

Sony has been left in such shock after learning of SEGA’s grand return to the hardware field that the company has accelerated the development of it’s next generation PlayStation 4 platform, as is proven by the recently revealed viral video.

Today comes further proof that Sony is in panic mode, as the company has now begun heavily discounting the PS3 to sub $200, risking financial suicide.

The price cut is in order to make way for the imminent arrival of it’s next generation format. After learning of SEGA’s intentions, it would seem the 10 year plan has officially gone out the window.

This is probably exciting for lots of you. SEGA is now getting their revenge.

Sega Ringedge Update #2

2010 May 8

Sega RingEdge update. Sega RingEdge update.
Update on RingEdge.
It is my understanding that Sega West(both Sega of America and Sega of Europe) are moving away from 3rd party publishing and by mid 2012 will no longer be publishing and releasing games on all non-Sega hardware except Nintendo 3DS.

Sega is also speculated to be working with Hitachi on a handheld based off of Naomi 2 or Chihiro hardware possibly the Sega Vision 2( I have doubts about this report) Here’s the specs:

Renesas SH-Mobile APE4 (R8A73720)

- Fabricated in Renesas’ optimized 45nm low power process

- ARM Cortex A8 1GHz Central Processing Unit

- PowerVR SGX540 200MHz Graphics Processing Unit

- Highly sophisticated audio subsystem enabling over 100 hours of audio playback on a standard mobile phone battery

- An integrated ISP supports 16M pixel still images and full HD 1080p movie images.

- A dedicated high-performance multi-codec video processing unit for ultra-low power video processing enables the device to support full HD1080p30 multi-standard video use cases such as encoding (recording) and decoding (playback) of full HD video (1920 × 1080 pixels) at 30 frames per second (fps).

- Various multi-phased visual engines, such as IP for edge enhancement or median filtering,

- x2 USB 2.0 Host/Function modules

- x3 SD host controllers with support for high-speed data transfer mode

- 24-bit TFT color LCD controller supporting up to WXGA+ display sizes

- PAL/NTSC encoder and an HDMI transmitter integrated together with a complete HDMI v1.3a & CVBS TV-Out interface.

- Packaged in a 0.4mm pitch, 12mm x 12mm BGA package allowing package-on-package vertical stacking of low power, multiple chip package (MCP) memory such as LP-DDR2, greatly reducing the overall footprint of the memory and processor combination.

As for the RINGEDGE, SEGASammy has decided that its next console should not launch until 2012 which will use a different upcoming high powered arcade board called “SEGADRIVE” the mark was filed in 2006 but has never been used. Little is known about its specs, but from what I gather the CPU will be a Intel Pentium Quad Core i7 Core Bloomfield with 2.8 Ghz, the GPU is a GeForce 480M GTX using 384 MBs of GDDR5 Shader Model 4.1 and has a PPUX2
that also uses 384MBs of physics processing combined together, the clock speed for the graphics will run at about 768 MHz.

but that the digital console/streaming device will use the RingEdge hardware instead of RINGWIDE due to its high preformance. Sega of Japan is of course designing the SEGADRIVE console.

Sega West is also putting the finishing touches on the device. Both Sega of Europe and Sega of America are finalizing and designing the device which will begin test marketing this fall with a $150-200 price tag.

Also the final specs for the final version of RingEdge’s arcade hardware is this:

CPU : Intel Pentium E2160 Allendale

- Dual Core

- 1.8 GHz

- 1MB L2 Cache

GPU : nVidia GeForce 9600GSO

- 384MB GDDR3

- Shader Model 4.0

RAM : 1GB DDR2

- PC2-6400

- 12.8GB/s

AUD : High definition Audio On Board

- 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Output

- 192KHz 32bit

I have also discovered that all info and plans regaurding RingEdge is confidental and that no-one at Sega is premitted to discuss it. Henceforth, SEGANEWSWIRE will try to cover up thier claims by spinning and making different claims.
